Wolves Jamie O’Hara To Quit Twitter

Wolves midfielder Jamie O’Hara will close his Twitter account after sparking a social media fury on Wednesday following claims about his hard life as a professional footballer.

The former Spurs player – who is thought to be paid about £35,000 a week – posted a tweet where he appeared to bemoan his life situation, longing for ‘easier’ days on £100 a week.

O’Hara, 26, who is married to former Miss England Danielle Lloyd, 28, wrote: ‘Things were so much easier when I earned 100pound a week on wts #stress’.

Joey Barton Talks With Funny French Accent After Debut For Marseille | Football

QPR loanee Joey Barton finally made his league debut for French outfit Marseille on Sunday, helping his side move level on points with leaders Paris Saint-Germain in the process.

Barton wasted little time in picking up his first caution in French football, as the QPR midfielder was booked after 22 minutes for a strong challenge on Florent Balmont.
But the Englishman settled well into the match, and so too did Marseille.
Balmont was red-carded before the break after chopping down Valbuena when the Frenchman was through on Landreau’s goal

Very bizarrely though during a post match press conference when answering questions from the local press he talked with a weird French accent.

“Steve MaClaren eat your heart out…,” Barton quipped on Twitter, referencing former England boss Steve McClaren’s use of a Dutch accent after he took over at FC Twente for the first time in 2008.

He added: “In my defence, it is very difficult to do a press conference in Scouse for a room full of French journalists.”

“The alternative is to speak like a ‘Allo Allo!’ character which is choose. Its simply a case of you had to be there. #youstupidwomen!

“I am christening this new language Bartonese. Steeeeevvvveeee would be proud!”

Richard Keys | Twitter – Chelsea Camp Split on Clattenburg

If what Keys claims is right and he may yet have to retract his idea that this whole escapade is complete fabrication , then where does this leave the London club which is still recovering from the John Terry racism row.

Chelsea do have a problem though and its a huge problem, a report in the Mail claimed ” Referee Mark Clattenburg’s report on last Sunday’s clashes at Stamford Bridge — when he was accused of racially abusing Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel by calling him ‘monkey’ — will centre on the visit Chelsea employees and players made to the officials’ room after the match.

And sources claim that the ‘extraordinary incident’ report will suggest Clattenburg was uncomfortable with what happened during that visit.

But the possibility also remains that one or more Chelsea employee could face FA action for their part in confronting the referee. It is understood that statements from assistant referees Simon Long and Michael McDonough and fourth official Mike Jones will support Clattenburg’s assertion that he made no racially abusive remarks.

Chelsea have not disputed the fact that Mikel heard the claim he had been abused by Clattenburg only after the match when he was told by non-English-speaking team-mate Ramires.

The situation has lead to the possibility of a referee’s boycott of Chelsea games , former rerferee Wilkes said ;

“I keep in touch with a lot of the lads and there is such a strength of feeling about what is happening to Mark. I know a few referees who are even talking about boycotting Chelsea games because of all this”.

“It’s no exaggeration to say the refs in this country have never felt lower. They are so disillusioned. They feel vulnerable, feel that they are getting no backing.

“They want to speak out themselves but are too frightened, they fear they will be sacked if they go public with their grievances. There have even been murmurings about strike action, but that is very much a last resort.”

Lewis Hamilton’s Embarrassing Twitter Backdown

Lewis Hamilton found himself in the middle of another “ twitter ” blunder when a tweet about team-mate Jenson Button was then later removed.

Earlier this week we captured the twitter shocker from Ashley Cole in which he was later forced into an apology.

The Tweet Read ; “Just noticed @jensonbutton unfollowed, thats a shame. After 3 years as teammates, I thought we respected one another but clearly he doesn’t,”

“Funny thing is, we are STILL teammates! All good tho, I plan on giving this team & fans all I got til I cross the finish line in brazil!!!”

Hamilton was soon forced to apologise to his team-mate and later confirmed ” “My bad, just found out Jenson never followed me. Don’t blame him! Need to be on Twitter more!”

The comments furthermore add fuel to the public persona of some sports professionals that in fact they simply live in a world detached from reality. Its only the seldom few but they continue to self destruct at every opportunity.
