John Carver was left to make the final contract amendments at half time after Alan Pardew revealed that the contract lacked security. Speaking to the press Pardew revealed ” Both of us looked at the contract and felt it lacked a bit of security” ” So, this contract is more secure for Mike in terms of keeping me at the football club,” he added.

In recent weeks there has been some confusion as to the relationship between the two. Zidane spoke to the press on Friday whilst at the Ramon Moreno Grosso memorial and confirmed ” It’s all good. I’m happy at Real Madrid. I’m helping to win titles and working with the youth team, with the youngsters. I have all the time left to do things …” Zidane said to the press.
In response to the speculation Mourinho told the press “You have been sleeping for two months. It’s been months since he said goodbye, in inverted commas, to his role in the first team. He’s been in the changing rooms”.
After watching the performance on Wednesday against West Brom it was difficult to identify with where Brendan Rodgers side were in terms of progress. I was somewhat apprehensive that taking such a young side including the youngest player Jerome Sinclair may disrupt the rhythm of the side. After 20 mins Liverpool started to apply their game and at times West Brom struggling to regain possession. The young players showing the mental and technical determination to take on the challenge set by the manager in turn raising further questions about Downing and Henderson who didn’t have a particularly great games. One huge area that stands out for me is the ability of Brendan Rodgers to connect with the young players in the squad. Evidence of which could be found in the documentary ” Being Liverpool” his powering and influential team talks clearly leave an impression on the dressing room.
I would go as far as saying that the young players appear to be really buying in to Brendan’s ideas and philosophy and players like Sahin , Suso and Yesil will love the technical freedom and expression they get when playing in the side. Having reflected on the game at West Brom i was really positive about the game at Carrow Rd Yesterday and it was no surprise that Brendan continued to keep faith with his committed & trusted players who with the addition of Suarez to the attack and Gerrard to the midfield brining some much-needed steel and determination and support Sahin, Sterling & Suso had the freedom to express their pace, quality, vision and technical ability bringing a 90% pass accuracy for the game with a 133 passes in the final third.
There will always be many of debates about throwing in the youngsters but it looks like Brendan will keep with tradition of showing trust with these players especially the ones he has brought to the club. He can be really proud that players like Sinclair & Sterling the youngest in the squad belive that they can carry the plan forward. When Sterling played the ball for the 3rd goal Sahin had just broke the half way line before smashing the ball in the net great desire and commitment which may just keep him a regular in the side.
The success in the last two games has however cast doubt on senior players downing & Henderson who run the risk of being up staged by the real hungry players coming through. Although Brendan was delighted with the 5-2 win over Norwich there is still some concern for me about the defensive play and the odd goal keeping mistake. Wisdom at right back looks a solid move for the player but Johnson at left back is not the long-term solution which at against the bigger sides will get exposed. I’m sure these area’s will be addressed in January and more so next summer. The future though is very bright and Brendan’s ability to inspire , coach and motivate these young talents for me leaves me very pleased with the progress and I’m sure FSG will no doubt be pleased that giving young players the chance to shine and improve the club as a whole.
Some fans may remember that Brendan refused to bow down to the wage demands on the deal for Sigurdson which Joe Allen is no doubt justifying especially with his consistent performances another player committed to the manager, commitment and trust are not technical footballing issues but form the basis of any progress especially with young individuals in any sporting environment.
Onwards and upwards.

Twitter reacted swiftly to the departure of Steve Kean and the majority of fans were delighted. Radio station phone- ins were flooded with fans who vented their anger at Kean. I’m not completely sure that forcing out the manager at this stage is the solution to the problem when fans were asked about the next manager it appears that previous players at the club are topping the charts.
In a statement Kean Said “For reasons I cannot discuss on legal advice, it is with deep regret, given my hard work and service for the club for a number of years, that I have been forced to resign as manager with immediate effect due to my position as team manager becoming untenable,”
Some of the tweets from yesterdays news ;
250 – Steve Kean will receive 250 chickens as redundancy pay for resigning as Blackburn manager. Cluck-off.

Anyone else realise that fittingly even Kean’s final words were a lie. We’re NOT in an automatic promotion position at the moment. #rovers
Chris Parker @chris___parker
Steve Kean… Your position became untenable when you were filmed calling Big Sam a f’ing crook! You are the lowest of the low! #rovers
Peter I @peteriveson

The pressure from fans and groups alike had clearly been taking their toll on the Kean during the past 12 months here’s a selection of images showing Steve clearly struggling;
Various reports in today’s press are suggesting that players are not happy with the tactics and training methods being employed by AVB. it hasn’t taken long for the controversial coach to start the rumblings amongst the dressing room. In some press conferences yesterday AVB found himself fighting off questions regarding the goalkeeping situation at the club his reply was swift and sharp ““I don’t put any kind of pressure on Hugo to start. He is more than ready to start in the Premier League, but he is up against a player who is doing more than well for us.”
Steve Kean has quit as manager of Blackburn Rovers according to reports. Attendances have dropped this season to the lowest in the league averaging just over 12000. Earlier in the week Kean insisted that ongoing talks with the owners were positive ” Both of the main directors have had constructive conversations, all I can say is there have been positive talks with the owners.”
Kean leaves the club 3rd in the Championship.

Ricky Hatton to day confirmed he is to fight Viacheslav Senchenko in Manchester on November 24th. Hatton who has not fought for over 3 1/2 years will need to show his very best form to over come the very experinced fighter from the Ukraine.
The 35-year-old Russian lost his WBA World Welterweight Title to Paul Malignaggi back in April. That was his first professional career loss and has a career record of 33 fights , 32 wins , 1 loss & 21 wins by KO.
This will be the first time the 5ft 10″ Russian has ventured outside the Ukraine since 2006 but he brings a 4″ height advantage and a 5″ reach advantage which will not help Hatton who at his last attempt at Welterweight was clearly outclassed by Floyd Mayweather, Jr in Vegas back in 2006.
Another visit to Vegas saw Ricky beaten by Manny Pacquiao in round Two and many would suggest it was one fight to many. In my opinion the right time for Ricky to retire. Two massive defeats in the space of 2 years would have left some really deep mental scares. Ricky clearly struggled to adapt to life after boxing and his battle with booze and drugs began to take its toll. Only Ricky really knows what the motivation factor is behind his return to the ring but and its a very big but ! should he not be at his peak the Russian has all the tools in his locker to bring this comeback to a swift end. Both fighters share the Orthodox stance which if given the chance should make for a very good fight.
A record-breaking 18,000 tickets were sold for the hotly anticipated Ricky Hatton comeback bout within 48 hours of them going on sale. In an emphatic display of Hatton’s popularity amongst boxing fans, 18,000 of the 19,000 tickets for the fight at the Manchester Arena on November 24 have been snapped up, despite his opponent having yet to be announced. The demand for tickets has surpassed all previous boxing ticket sales records for the venue, including bouts featuring such fighters as David Haye and Mike Tyson.
In response Hatton wrote on his official website ” I’m feeling great and although there is a long road to go with the training, I couldn’t be happier with where I am,” added Hatton.
“When I announced my comeback last week I told everyone I had no doubts that I will once again become world champion and from what I’ve been working on in the gym and how I’m feeling, my belief has only got stronger.”
for information on tickets and venue use the official ticket sales office here news on the TV rights will follow as and when they are confirmed.
Zinedine Zidane has arrived in paris to take centre stage at the Pompidou modern art museum but in what may have come as an unexpected move especially arrivng as a bronze statue in honour of the infamous head but during the 2006 world cup.
This piece of art has been made by Algerian Adel Abdessemed, and is situated in-front of the Centre Pompidou modern art museum in Paris.
The 16 foot bronze statue will stand outside the centre of the Pompidou modern art museum and has been created by Algerian Adel Abdessemed.
The statue though will not be a permanent move and will only remain unitl the end of the exhibition which runs until January 2013.
This is not the first time that the Algerian Adel Abdessemed from New York has caused fury among visitors. His 1:27-minute color video made in Mexico depicting a bunch of different animal and insect species thrown together into a pen appeared at the David Zwirner Gallery in 2009.
Further in 2009 the Le Ali di Dio (The Wings of God), the first Italian exhibition dedicated to Adel Abdessemed had to be postponed due to complaints regarding the video installation entitled Don’t Trust Me, which documents the practices of butchers in the Mexican countryside.
On a day when the FA releaved John Terry of £220,000 the The Sports Direct & Magpies chief Mike Ashley announced Sports Direct is to secure the purchase of 60 JJB stores for around 30 million pounds reports Reuters. Back in July reports suggested that Sports Direct continued to increase profits in contrast to JJB who despite further investment continued to miss its own profit targets JJB said ” JJB said poor trading from lacklustre Euro 2012 football finals and rainy weather caused sales to tumble 8.7 per cent in the 24 weeks to the middle of July”. The deal will provide up-to 1500 jobs and provide Sports Direct with further revenue streams.
Yes Alan Pardew and team at Newcastle united wasted no time in cashing in with a staggering 8 year contract along with additional 8 year deals for his back room staff. Not since 1994 have we seen such bold moves by clubs when the Magpies gave Kevin Keegan a 10 year deal which only lasted 3 years before Keegan walked out on the club.
Managing Director Derek Llambias explained ”
Alan has done a fantastic job over the last couple of years and has proved what a great Premier League manager he is.“I have total respect for him in all football matters and have an excellent relationship with him which I think benefits the club enormously.
“Alan also has one of the best backroom teams in the country and I would like to thank John Carver , Steve Stone, and Andy Woodman for all their combined efforts.
Although fans can be happy with the support of Mike Ashley there might be concerns of future season ticket price rises or player sales in the January transfer window to finance the deals.
Newcastle united’s season tickets increased by 5% this season with adult tickets costing between £373-£717.
